Delete Account

How to erase your Lume account and your data — in the app or by email, with or without the app installed. And, before anything else, the right order to do things in.

The right order

  1. Cancel the subscription in the App Store or Google Play, if you have an active one.
  2. Delete the account, by either of the two routes below.

Delete in the app

This is the quickest route, and deletion starts right away:

  1. Open Lume and go to the Profile tab.
  2. Tap the Settings icon.
  3. Scroll to the bottom and tap Delete my account.
  4. Confirm. The action is permanent and cannot be undone.

Delete by email

If you already uninstalled the app, lost access to your sign-in or simply prefer it this way, you can request deletion without installing anything:

  1. Write to contato@meulume.com from the email linked to your Lume account.
  2. Use the subject "Account deletion".
  3. Tell us which sign-in provider you used: Apple, Google or email.
  4. We confirm your identity and process the request.

If you cannot write from the registered email, write anyway and explain the situation. We will ask for information only the account holder would know — it is tedious, but it is what stops someone from deleting your account by pretending to be you.

Talk to the people who look after your data

Write to our support channel. It is the same address that answers as Data Protection Officer under article 41 of the Brazilian LGPD.

What gets erased

Deletion is broad. The following goes offline immediately and is removed from our systems within the period in the next section:

Timelines

  • Account access ends immediately after confirmation.
  • Data is removed from our systems within 30 calendar days.
  • Backup copies are overwritten in the normal backup rotation cycle, within the same period.
  • Application access logs are kept for up to 6 months, under article 15 of the Brazilian Internet Civil Framework.
  • Data needed to comply with a legal obligation or to defend a claim is kept for the applicable period, under article 16 of the LGPD.

Deletion is irreversible. There is no way to restore your history afterwards — not the counter, not the records, not the posts. If you only want a break, uninstalling the app preserves everything for when you come back.
